I got a metzeler me880 to match my back tire today. The bike handles so much better than when I had the stocker up front. I do have a slight vibration now at 60mph so I might be taking it by and getting it balanced again.
That was the good part of the day, now for the bad. Drove to meet with some buddies for lunch and afterwards I left to go home when some girl pulled out of a gas station and nearly ran me over! I was in the left turning lane at the redlight with a gas station to my left. She just pulled straight out heading right towards me. I popped the clutch and started to pull out to avoid her but thankfully she stopped within inches of my left leg. Really shook me up. To make things worse when I got near my house they were repaving the road on the opposite side buy my side was covered in pavement slime. Had to go about 15 mph for 2 miles, slipping and sliding the whole way. Boy what a day.

i think weve all had one of those.. but all in all be happy it turned out you ended with a good day considering the alternative.. Ive actually been HIT on mine T boned.. I had to pick my left foot up and it slid over the hood of his car.. had i not picked it up it would have been crushed... the incredible part is it only bent my clutch lever up.. I thought my entire side of the bike was going to be trashed...

Let us know if you can tell a tangible difference in breaking. I'm curious to know. I've been thinking about doing this myself.

Saturday 7/11 - Purchased a bike jack, installed John's Forward controls (strange that I expected to be the gear side to be the harder of the two... how wrong!) and completed an oil change.

Sunday 7/12 - Rode up Palomar Mt. south road, Mesa Grande, and out to Wynola (all in east county San Diego) - an amazing day for a ride! Attached are a couple of pics from the ride.

Wished my bike good morning and left her in the garage to join the carpool. It's supposed to be rainy the next couple days, but Thursday I'm taking her and the girlfriend out to the Minnetonka Drive-In in Spring Park, MN

i took it for a ride... went to my mom's for supper and noticed my whole tail light section is about to fall off.
where the middle bolt is, it's cracked in 1/2 and the two bolts on the side are snapped off the frame. heh.
so for now... it's parked until i get that and the motor fixed.

LOVE the forward controls - makes a HUGE difference for me. Bike still feels... small, but way more comfortable!

Stock horn started to sound on its way out so I added some new horns.

They are a LOT louder. Waiting for the AVIs to post on Photobucket so you can hear the difference.

Before

After

The horns cost $47.03 (with tax) and the dealer only charged me $36 + change to install... even though they spent two hours wiring these into the harness. I swear by my dealership's service department!!! They treat me RIGHT!!! Thanks Aaron!

The auto parts store has some stuff called PLASTIC WELD by permatex ,I will swear by this stuff.
Heres my story I put a new fuel pump on my blazer, the 1 i ordered has plastic fittings,as i was hooking them up i broke the top completely off the pump.I used this stuff to reattach it ,and it has worked perfect for over 1 year now.I also used it to hold the side cover on the rear inside of my blazer when i broke off 1 of those plastic nipples.Im sure you could drill it and tap it too.
PLASTIC WELD by permatex worth every penny at $6.00
on another note....lets hear those horns!

i don't think gorilla glue will work on something that will hold the weight of the light assembly itself... hmm..

cool horns btw.
