Effex, thanks for the response. I have been debating the floorboard thing for a while. I like the looks of the OEM boards because they don't have much chrome compared to other boards. The size did worry me though but since we wear roughly the same size shoe then it should not be a problem for me either. Looking at the picture of your bike it seems the boards are a little more "level" compared to the stock pegs. Is this true? I hope so because where my legs are so long I my feet need to be kinda flat. It's near impossible for me to leave my foot on the peg and cover the rear brake, too much of an angle.

Yea, you could say it's more level'd. It actually took me a good 20 minutes of sit and go traffic riding to get used to the floorboards since my feet were in a much more "natural" position with the bike. It will definitely take you a short ride to get used to them, but once you do, you will notice that (aside from the comfort) it is easier to shift and use your rear breaks.

When I get a chance I will take a close-up picture of the floorboards and the shift/break lever so you can get an idea for the distance.

Thanks Effex, that would be great. I actually sit on my bike when I got in from work trying to see wich was best, floorboards or forward controls. The forwards would stretch my legs out (34" inseam) but I think I would pay for it in my back. I ride just about every evening and go for 2-3 hour rides on the weekend. My biggest complaint is foot position and lower back pain. I think moving the controls forward will probably just make things worse on those long rides.

I actually had an issue with my Dually pegs. One of the bolts that Kuryakyn sent was 1/4" shorter than the other and barely held the peg in place. Had to call them to replace it, they %%%%%ed for a while & charged me for the replacement. They look good on the bike, but not a good experience with their customer service.

Hmm, I am not impressed with Kuryakin either. I had a set of their skull mirrors, they lasted 6 months before the "chrome" plastic started blistering and peeling.

I propose that from now on, when a movie is made with larger monsters, the sound of that motorcycle showed be their roar...

wicked...

I removed the final warning stickers on the bike, put in a new headlight, and debaffled. Dare I say that I do much enjoy that extra rumble?

I've put over 1500 miles on this bike in the three weeks I've owned it. That's as much as the last owner put on in two years. Yeah

Some people just don't deserve to own a motorcycle.........i.e. the previous owner!

That is how many miles I'm putting on the bike this week with my trip to Lexington. Many many miles of back country roads through horse farms.

Took a 70 mile ride with a dinner in the middle this evening. Cool back roads with plenty of turns and great scenery, except the deer that was 10 feet off the road

Debaffled it. Finally after looking and looking for the right aftermarkets to put on, I gave in. I am so gald I did this rather than spending $400 on aftermarkets. Don't get me wrong...I will evetually do it, but I want to do a lot of other mods now that i can spend the money on.

Guys, that to me is what motorcycling is all about. Fresh air, no traffic country roads through rolling hills and curvey roads. I'm relaxed just thinking about it.

i rode it.

i checked my mineral/semi-synthetic/full synthetic oil levels.

(it is a mix of 5W-20, 30W, 10W-40, 15W-40, 20W-40, 20W-50.)

i checked all my lights, ok.

adjusted my tire pressures according to what post i was reading.

and rode.

i rode to and fro, here and there.

and i did not argue with anyone....on the road, nor online.

and life was good.

what did i do to my M50 recently?

i rode her like the bad girl that she is, Bessie likes her non-pharmaceutical speed.

get off-line and ride.

YMMV

cranky
