Actually had a day off from work..........so just cleaned it up and went for a little ride. Hopefully, the next time I have a day off, I'll do some of the maintenance.

I've had the bike for 2 weeks now and have put on almost 700 miles on it!

Rode it to work today. It was almost 90 and Sunny here in North Alabama. Still getting the feel for my Alleycat, wind buffeting is minor but wind / exhaust noise is louder.... may still need to fine tune the adjustment. The new Kury Iso grips are great and I dont feel like there is much more vibration in the bars.

On the way home from work didnt pay that much attention to the heat stored in the seat and felt it soon after I got on it ... Gonna have to find a shady place to park it now.

Rode to work this morning, then got home and figured out the wife had to switch shifts with someone else at work and wasn't home, so I went for a nice 3 hr ride.

Installed V&H Cruzers a few weeks ago but hadn't posted a pic. AND I just put on Kury Flamin' Switchblade pegs. I gotta say the pegs look a lot sharper than I expected. I love 'em! They catch the eye, and those little guys really make the bike sparkle. As for functionality, the peg is a nice wide platform even w/out the "switchblade" out. Once I get out on longer rides, I'll be able to judge how good they really are. One concern is that I can already tell the right side peg will need continual tightening after riding with the blade out since it has it wiggles a bit when I put downward pressure on it.

You still got the S40?

My Stilleto w/stirrups on the right side does the same thing. I've tried loc-tite and cranking the Chit out of the allen headed bolt but if I push off the stirrup it loosens up.....a real PITA! But they do look cool!

Yeah after reading reviews, I didn't even bother getting loc-tite since I knew it would still loosen. Oh well. I can live w/ that. I'll just keep my handy hex key in the in my jacket. OBTW, I made the mistake of ordering a spliced adaptor thinking it would fit the peg....WRONG!

This past Friday I changed the tires, both front and rear to Dunlop D404s. I had 9,927 miles on the IRCs. I could have gotten another 1,000 from what a friend told me but I had the money to change them now so I did. !77.98 for both from MSS delivered direct to the dealer. They put them on for $90 (+$13.50 for shop supplies). Pretty good deal if you ask me.

Bought a MS Big Shot windshield and put it on. BAD mistake. Positively awful, rattles the bejeebers out of my helmet (assuming I have any left). Top comes right across my sight line for a vehicle in the optimum following distance. Definitely need to find something shorter.

Would the PopTop be the next logical thing to try (since I already have the Sportshield hardware) ? I am 6 ft tall, and generally do not sit up high in the seat.

If it's too tall, it might be cheaper just to have it cut down. You'd probably have to take it to a place that cuts glass. I have the MS Fats 19" and I get a little buffeting on the highway when it's windy but it's more than tolerable. I'm 5'11"

The next size down is the alleycat. I have it and get some buffeting but minor and only at higher speeds mostly wind noise. The top of the shield comes to right about my mouth, I'm 6'2" but also have the saddleman explorer seat that is a little bit lower than the stock one.

Put on a Sportech Cranker Tank Bag. I haven't tried yet on the highway so i'll report back later to let you guys know how it works. It seems pretty damn loud so I guess i'll find out at 80mph.

Finally de-badged. It was way easier than expected. Unlike the gongshow of taking the safety stickers off.
