I'm wondering if they are too big and look out of place for the style of the M50. Small highway bars seem useless since the Cobra floorboards would hit the ground before they do.
Thanks and enjoy your ride!
I went with the small bars as the large ones look out of place. But then again, I don't like the look and feel of floorboards either. Do the floorboards not flip up? If they do, then they should do so when they hit the ground and the small bars would do their job.

You selling the pipes?
The reason I went with the Cobra floorboards is because of my short frame of only 5'3". I found the M50 to be the best fit for my frame and comfort, but with the pegs I felt like my legs really had to reach. I already lowered the bike by 2" in the rear. The floorboards help a lot with comfort especially in lots of traffic with constant shift changes and braking. My boot would always get hung up on the rubber peg being I have a small foot too. But if I do get the Saddlemen Profiler seat and lowers me and brings me forward, like they say it can, I may be able to get back to the pegs, certainly worth a shot.
But I was considering getting crash bars too. But wondering if they will be too big for the bike, looks wise and lean wise.
The other addition I was thinking about is a very small windshield, the national cycle flyscreen looks like it may fit the bill. Not sure I want it though.
I'd love to see a picture of them both on a M50 1st to see if I like it.
Thanks for the response and input. I love the look of the M50, its kind of a mix between your classic cruiser and sport bike, so to deck it out with cruiser styling may be too much.

Yes the cobra floorboards do flip up, scraped them once already. Which crash bars did you get? But even when the floorboards due flip up they are still further out than the pegs, since the pegs flip up too. I may just get the seat 1st and see how that pans out.

I have reliable internet again after a job loss, so I'm back online, woot. Yesterday I imprsessed my new co-workers with my M-50. Winter sitting under a cover in my carport played hell on the on the plastic parts I painted, so I get to strip that and redo it when its warm enough to paint again.

BTW XoZe, those small bars saved my ankle, hit a coyote at 75 on a back country road, it bounced off those bars before it hit my foot, helped absorb most of the impact. Good choice, I got clamp on highway pegs on mine, makes longer rides much more comfortable.

I was told either they don't or it's a pain in the a$$ to get both of them on there. I forgot which it was... if that helps. All I remember is I have a choice, crash bar or forwards.... I picked forwards.

I picked them because I have a bad left knee and can't move my left off the bars at any kind of speed. So I'd rather have my knee in an extended position than have the bars, which I can't really use.

Took mine apart, guys in my shop are going to spray pearl on the yellow.
Btw, stripped two of the button head bolts holding my Cobra sissy bar on. Anyone know where to look besides calling Cobra?

NICE pictures!!!
Thanks a bunch. The smaller ones definetely look better but don't look like they would protect a heck of a lot, but better than nothing I suppose. Wish they made a set inbetween, just a little bigger than those but not the full blown out cruiser style. Anyone know of any? I think the full ones are about 31", so something in the 20 range would be great if they make them. Hmm.

I've got larger crash bars on mine (by Cobra). They have saved my bacon twice!

Well I posted under a different thread but it's pretty quiet in C90 land. Today I peeled off the warning label from the tank, put on my Timberwolf Leather tank pouch and took a nice 40 mile ride. Now it's back in the garage because it's supposed to snow again tomorrow. I can't wait for spring!

Sweet! Protection is what I'm looking for. I can see them in the picture but not that well. Can you send it in the message for a closeup? I'm really torn between the two. As stated if I could find one inbetween I'd be set, but it's usually one or the other.
Thanks to everyone who replied so far. It's been a big help.

Took back to back rides - yesterday and today!

I've tweaked and adjusted my kury highway pegs so that they are aligned with my stock pegs- heel to toe; nice comfortable set up, but very close to my gears/rear brakes respectively.

Installed Midnightexpress chrome clock & thermometer on the handlebars.

YEAH!!!! I finally got that ugly pos called the pair valve off my bike! Ive been wanting to do it for so long and i cant believe how easy it was. I thought it was going to be complicated but it took 5 minutes tops. My list of upcoming mods is almost done. I don't know what I'll do once I get those three items. I guess it helps 2 of them are big ticket and I haven't been able to get them cleared by the "Banker".

If it took only 5 minutes than your the worlds fastest mechanic. You obviously left the front tube on. So you must have just cut the hoses and plugged them.....................I'm guessing.

Not a mechanic at all. And yes, I left the tubes on it. I figured you cant see them anyway so what difference does it make. Just plugged em up with a big ass screw. Good to go!

This is something to consider...
