--- only to some degree. It's not a true backrest but there's more there than with stock. I'm 5'8" and have to slouch forward to really support my back (but I have a weird shaped back anyway). I'm thinking with Fwd Controls it may be more of a player for support.

Just my 2 cents...

And just to confirm that the passenger section does not have the gel pad.....and it is about 7" wide?

Yes it does but you will need more pullback than the stock handlebars will give you, unless you have very long arms. You get the benefit of back support when you can lean back a little.

Red face

I just installed the GIpro-S06 w/ ATRE (advanced timing retard eliminator).
GIpro - Gear Indicator with Advanced TRE for Suzuki and Kawasaki motorcycles
what-did-you-do-your-m50-today-new-gi-pro-dark-shot-small.jpg

I had the simpler gear indicator (DS), but it was a defective model. This is simple plug-n-play version.
HealTech Electronics Ltd. - Makers of the SpeedoHealer, GIpro/ATRE and X-TRE
what-did-you-do-your-m50-today-gi-pro-gear-small.jpg

The owner/engineer, Norbert, was kind enough to send me 2 new versions from Hungary, and so I will now send back the defective one and the other new DS.

I have to test ride it to see if i connected everything correctly.

Popped up a video of me and a few friends riding around Benbrook Lake.

Make sure you read the MORE INFO on the right.

It should be in the upper 70's today so I might take a 150 mile ride.

Installed the GIpro with ATRE. Instructions are horrible but with help from this board, succeeded. Gear indicator trained and works well. The ATRE function works also. Definite improvement.

Its only takin me 3 years but i have finally reached the 10,000km (6000 mile) mark on my M50. A little TLC and service for love.
Thats the problem with living in the outback of Oz, Im a little restricted in places to ride, but it goes like a dream to work an back most days and the occasional picnic with the wife.

Yeah, mom and dad got better as their years started adding up.

Thanks.

Thumbs up

Took her for a spin yesterday to test out my new GIpro-S06 w/ ATRE and brakeaway cruise control...

VERDICT: BOTH AWESOME ADD-ONS!!!
GIpro not only tells accurate gears in large LED's but w/ the ATRE activated, you get ridiculous torque... which means she'll be thirsty- for a short ride, i burned up a lot of gas (whatdya expect when i'm gunning it, throttle wide open?!?).

The brakeaway worked flawlessly too! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! what-did-you-do-your-m50-today-brakeaway-close-up.jpg

Default Anyone have large crash bars on their M50?

Hi There,
I'm a proud owner of a 2008 M50 Special Edition. Love the bike, and have even been riding in this freezing weather. Can't wait till spring. Anyway, I'm looking to upgrade a few items, one being the Saddlemen Profiler and crash bars. Has anyone put them on theirs, and if so do you have a picture to share? I'm wondering if they are too big and look out of place for the style of the M50. Small highway bars seem useless since the Cobra floorboards would hit the ground before they do.
Thanks and enjoy your ride!

Here's a new insight: Stock Pegs are WAY MORE COMFORTABLE than my Cobra Swept Floorboards. I've sent the right board back to Cobra as the chrome came undone, and put the stock pegs back on... what a difference in comfort and especially LEAN ANGLE. I'm always afraid of scraping w/ the cobras, and there's just nothing there to dampen the vibrations of my cobra pipes. Guess what will be 4 sale... make me an offer! (on the floorboards, that is!)
