Left it covered so the Storm doesn’t harm it. Wish I had a Garage to put it in.

Yeah, thats the plan, its a darn good idea, the stock box is always in my way but not by much, and looks bad. I like the idea of throwing a muscle car part on the side of a muscle bike. I had a sudden burst of inspiration off a bike in the background of a picture I saw in V-twin magazine, it was a gloss black bike with candy lime green flames, not doing flames but I loved the combination, and the stock box just doesn't look right in my head with the new paint I'm doing... Stuck between the bike I need and the bike I want, trying to find a compromise...

Well I rode my bike to a muddy field full of sheepsh1t, threw the tent up and Anne & I proceeded to listen to excellent Live music ALL weekend whilst enjoying a beer or two, in the company of several hundred other bikers, at the Rat Arsed Rally.

Oh and DJ I found a man with green canvas ex-army panniers on his bike, he's gonna try and get me some, they will fit perfectly with the new paint job,..... when it happens.

Panniers? Cool.

If you install them, you may need to soak them first in a solution that sets the color and prevents UV fading. The canvas that I currently have on my seat was initially the same color as the paint. The sun faded it. It faded very quickly like in a matter of 3-4 days in the sun.

I then dyed it brown and it faded again. I've read about the the solution to set the color/prevent fading but haven't tried it yet myself. In the next week or two I will probably re-dye the seat cover and do the soak to prevent fading. I'll let you know how it goes.

installed iso grip spikes today after work. tried to get the sidemount license mount on but the hole in bracket was too small and i didn't have a curved file at home. the saddle bag hides the plate in that position anyhow. too bad . left the plate ziptied to back of sissy bar where it's visible.

finished blacking out an exhaust, I'll install them next week after the ceramic paint cures... still working out the details on the new paint job I'm working on.

Busy Night .tonight - I went all out. I completed a ton of stuff tonight. I successfully put 3 coats of 1200 degree matte black paint on the following: Speedo Cover, Headlight assembly front ring, air cleaner cover, pair valve cover, both fender supports. The bike looks great, I'll post some pics of it in the blacked out post tomorrow when the light is better and the paint is all cured. Overall, absolutely psyched about how it turned out. Still to come...blacking out the stock pipes. Goodnight.

cool... now post some pics!

i changed my oil yesterday... i had never done the oil filter myself and what a PITA it was...

i didn't have a cap wrench and regular oil wrenches didn't fit.
i took off the oil filter with my bare hands... it was almost loose!

i tightened the filter by hand, 2 full turns...
no leaks... it now rides exactly the same as before the oil change

soon to come: highway pegs, stebel air horn, tool roll bag, k&n air filter, battery meter (stupid filter is delaying the order)
