Very nice. The pipe looks like it's brand new yet 25 years old. It's got a new look and an old style.

I quite agree, the next step is to the airbox and the tanktop cowling modification, then its off to the powdercoaters for the wheels, then to the spraybooth with all of the rest.. Satin green. not too dissimilar to another bike I have seen somewhere.. not quite sure where though......

I'm not sure either but it sounds like a cool color.

Wow, you're going all out on it. Sounds awesome. You'll love it.

Decided now is not the time to buy the bike I want, due to finances and rider maturity. So I bought a new full face helmet, so I can give mine to the wife. Ordered a sissy bar w/rack & tail bag. Still waiting for my Philips Extreme H4 +80 bulbs to arrive. Ordered a 2" lowering kit. By the end of next week I should have everything in hand and installed. Then I'll be but a windshield away form a nice long tide.

you and your wife have the same size head --- is she an asian woman (that would make her head pretty large for her body)

Attempting to install my side mount curved plate today, but I am curious to ask anyone who has already installed it... do you need to have the bike up on a lift? or can you just remove the bolt and attach it with the bike on a stand. If this is a stupid question, forgive me.... I appreciate your feedback!

Pull the bolt out while on side stand = np.
CS

You may also need to make the hole a bit larger ,so the bolt will fit into it.I didnt have the right size bit ,so I just kept grinding at it till it fit.

Default Thanks

Thanks for the vote of confidence, I rolled the dice before i read that tonight, and just did it. Took me a few minutes to grind out the plate mount to fit the stock bolt, but it worked out ok. I also used an abrasive disc and cut out the majority of the plastic, leaving the turn signals for now A few more days and John's Forward Controls will be going on, and eventually the integrated tail light. Any advice on aiming a light towards the side mount plate? LED? Re-fab the current light mount from the tail and aim it? Thanks for the feedback!

I used the original light ,and mounted it to the bar under the fender I screwed 2 flat brackets to the stock holes of the light, and then drilled a hole on the other ends, then used 2 zip ties to secure it ,without drilling on anything, and its solid.
Ill take a couple pics tomorrow.

A small flat LED (the diameter of a nickel and about as thick as 3 nickels stacked together) mounted under the left chrome rear fender support, aimed down on the plate and powered by the wires that went to the stock plate light. Use double-sided tape to mount. You can usually find them at Wal-Mart, Autozone and Advance Auto.

Thanks for the great ideas! I am curious about the mounting though. I would like to just use the stock light idea, but I am not sure exactly how to mount it to the underside of the fender. Where did you get the brackets? Did you fab them yourself? Is a LED easier to mount? Pictures would be REALLY helpful! I am very happy with the minimal plastic that is left on the tail, and the side mount curved looks good!

Well Last night I left my M50 at home, jumped on the train to Motherwell and rode back on a Yamaha Diversion XJ900. My fiddy has another stablemate, this one's for the winter as the road salt is rather harsh on the fiddy. It pulls like a fkin train!!

I mounted my new Streetshield EX windshield. Works good, actually looks pretty cool too. Also, have painted everything but the Tank, matte black.
