Too tired to post on Sunday. On Friday I finished the enlarged softer passenger seat, and installed my home brew luggage rack. Saturday went to work, then got home and packed the girlfriend on the back (she liked the seat- just widened the seat with some aluminum and plastic, then closed cell 1", 2" HD open cell, then some batting) and rode up to Chicago, taking rest stops every 30 minutes so she could stretch her legs, need to come up with a set of Passenger highway pegs. Then on Sunday we rode to the Bristol Ren Faire, which was an interesting ride, got my self surrounded by some Chicago Outlaws, dropped back when I saw the jackets, just didn't want to deal with it. Then saw a camper full of clowns. Went to the ren faire, had some fun, saw some girls in corsets had some pizza and then bought some stuff. Got some compliments from the other guys in the motorcycle pen, and added 2 animal hides and a blowing horn to my gear and rode home. Didn't ride yesterday, gave plasma (to pay for the trip) and to drink extra water and got sick.. Today I rode to work and took my roommates girl for a ride (on the Motorcycle, lest DJ make some comment )

I went with MotorcycleCruiser.com's advice on a helmet and helmet fit and bought a HCI PC-77 matte black full-face helmet with retractable tinted inner shield and clear outer shield. I love the fit, weight and features.

Nice. Very neat feature, and cheaper than my HJC... Its not oversized is it? The last helmet I bought for my self online instead of in the store makes me looks lke Dark Helmet from Space Balls...

dark helmet? gotta go get one of them! and ya... cheaper than my hjc ac-12
gotta love spaceballs

sweet looking helmet... hows the airflow of it?

today i haven't ridden yet, i re-did my electrical, wired my switch for my lights to the Aux connector in the headlamp, also my gps is on there now, and bought some accessory connectors... basically copper shims with tabs on it to put quick connect onto it.

now my lights only come on with the key (no more worries about leaving my lights on and/or getting shorted out due to rain) and the battery terminals shouldn't come loose anymore i hope...

also broke a little tab on the tool box cover... piece of crap...

You running relays or just straight to that aux plug? I've heard of people melting there starter switch by running to much juice though that plug. At least you only broke the tab, I lost mine completely, and all the covers that connect to it.

ya, i read you did that... horrible... that's one reason i took mine apart to make sure the everything was nice and tight... didn't line it up properly when i tried to bang it in place... it broke...

as for the lights... i should be ok...

I have the garmin zumo and the light switch on the Aux connector in the headlight...
together they take less than 1/2 amp (measured with a meter) and the aux plug is rated 2 amps...

i have the each set of lights running through a relay direct to the battery. i also have an accessory plug to the battery.
The switch just gives the relays juice, it doesn't power the lights themselves. The lights together draw about 18 amps... heh

finally took it for a ride... i think the next thing i need to get/do is a voltage monitor and if i find i'm sucking too much juice to not be able to recharge the battery, i'll have to figure out a way to upgrade my stator if i can...

i think i'll go change my front brakes now..

i just changed my front brakes. first time i've ever done that...
i got scared at one point as the new pads didn't fit... then i got scared cuz the old pads didn't fit back on the rotor...

figured out what i was doing wrong... had to push the pistons back in for the pads to fit. new pads are on and stops a bit better now..

Hmmm...are you reworking the baffle? Stock is pretty high pitched and buzzy, i've got the thundermonsters and it pounds pretty good.

C'mon. Gimme some credit. You know I can't leave stuff alone.

BTW, I did something else today to the Hellcat that I never thought I'd do. I put a windshield on it. It's the clear Show Chrome 22" shield. It's essentially the same thing as the Mempis Shades Fats 21" but is about $75 cheaper. Let me get my camera...

I guess it's time to gut and cut!

Here's windshield pics. It's a little bigger than I like but it's the height I needed to avoid helmet buffeting.
