No sweating involved, just turn down the heat. Riding the Vstrom on the highway in 50-55 F temps the controller is on low. Warmer than that and just turn it off.

Screen name. No weapons of mass destruction involved. I spent 25 years battling Mother Nature on the North Saskatchewan River in Edmonton Alberta. Worked in a water treatment plant making drinking water out of whatever came downstream.

Took my M50 on a little ride tonight and put some miles on it... 57 of them, but damn I had a great time. I got 47.2 mpg on this fill up and in 57 miles I had to stop a total of three times, one of them was by choice.

Water Warrior, I thought it was impling something else. This is my version of a water warrior (My M50 comes second to this)

Don't do it unless you really need to!! The sanity my toys bring me is priceless.

But not as priceless as my wife and my Golden Retriever.

lived in Fort Saskatchewan and i dared not swim in it... nasty...

i did run across the old train bridge that spanned that river... longest run across ever...

today i started my bike for the first time since july...

well, i was going to, i turned the key, hit the starter and it didn't start. lights were bright and everything.

after plugging in the battery tender, and tender said the charge was good, i tried agian. nothing.

then i got on the bike and lifted the kickstand. woot.
i'm retarded... started right up with a great billow of smoke.

off for a short ride to hose it down and bring it to it's final resting place...
hope it makes it, as i have no front shocks (oil is out of the tubes) and no front brake (due to said oil)

That's the problem. It wasn't bought intentionally as a toy. But that's what it's become. It would be sold as a need to pay down my bills. And of course I'd get another scoot down the rode.

Monday - 312 miles over 10 hours or so over the Sandhills region and back using Mad Maps (MAD MAPS Scenic Road Trips).

Route surprises: 1 road dead ended and became a private sand road (instinct and google maps on the cell phone got me around, 1 road closure with no posted detour. Super nice lady working a gas station routed me around.

Wildlife count: several buzzards eating road kill, 1 deer, at least 6 dogs (only 1 tried to chase me), and 3 hunters in camo eating a diner in Ellerbe NC.

A good ride...last couple hours were in the dark which made me tense (increased deer threat, visibility, headlights in my eyes, etc), but it wound up okay.

A short (100 mile) lunch ride with friends. Better than no ride at all.
