If this is what you're seeking you'll probably have to go with different bars. I still have the risers on but switched to some Flanders bars. Could probably drop the risers but I've not wanted to fool with it and overall I'm happy with current set up: http://www.motorcycle-journal.com/fo...light=flanders Many here have also used the C50 bars...some left totally stock, others chopped off an inch or so from both ends. Good luck and find what works for you...I believe comfort is also a safety issue.

You're so right. I tried different handlebars similar to the Flanders (same dimensions), but did not like the look of them on the bike. I think I might have to go with the C50 bars, even though they seem much bigger than the stock M50 bars. The ideal bars for me on the M50 would be about a 1 inch more rise and about a 2 inches more pullback.

C-50 bars are: 1 inch higher 2.5 inches wider 3.5 inches more pull back If you are a normal size rider I would suggest cutting about an inch off each bar end. |

Well, I thought I wanted some but now I don't know. I may still give them a try. PM sent.

Dide roughly 500 miles over the weekend from Charlotte, NC to Wilmington, NC and back and in/around Wilmington. Some colder riding at night, but no rain. I def need to work on the seat or get a new one. Still had a great time tho. Downtown Wilmington is really nice. I already knew this but seeing the building and the water on the bike is a totally different, cool view.

If I hadn't gotten these from a forum member, I was looking at the bars from a Vstar 650 or 1100...I had pretty much determined I would go with the 650 bars. Literally I went to a large dealership (Suzuki, Kawi, Yami) and spent at least 40 min walking around siting on bikes and measuring the bars as well as length of gas tank (yes geek that I am I actually did that and took my own tape measure). Turns out most tanks are about 22-23" long. Anyway that's the only way I could figure to note the differences between the bars without spending a lot of time and money switching them out. No M50 on the floor at that time though. I was mainly comparing between the C50, 650 and 1100. Again 650 bars would have been my choice if I had not found the used flanders. Oh - and I had determined by riding my M that I need my reach to land so that my palm was in line with the gas cap. Quote:
Regarding the see - go see "Hairy" at Peterson's Trim Shop on Pleasant Plains in Matthews. $150 to shave down my seat and add gel inserts. Hadn't really ridden the bike enough to comment on stock seat comfort...I was going for a lower seating position without lowering the bike. Longest ride with the shaved seat was about 300 miles over 10-11 hours. Only time I started getting a bit numb was a relatively boring stretch at 55mph...not enough curves to let you shift riding position.

| Clunked into first gear ![]() | 485 S from university to 218 for about 30 miles to 74, then 74 the rest of the way. 218 is pretty curvy but it was getting dark and a lot of those curves are at the top of hills and its lined with chicken farms so that was pleasant

Had a new rear tire installed today. Almost fell in the first curve I took with it. Because it was brand new it was very slippery. After some miles it became better. |

she's parked in my cousin's garage for the winter. went over there and put some fuel stabilizer in the take and took out the battery and cried a little... i seriously considered wrapping a bungee strap around my broken leg and hooking it to the handle bar and trying to ride

What brand and type is your rear tire? It doesn't look like the stocker
