Default Rear turn signals into running lights??

Anyone re-configure their rear turn signal bulbs into a "light bar" and have them on like the front (red lense of course) and then blink like the front ones do??

I was interested in making myself a bit more visible at night (new shift at work, riding home after midnight) I don't wanna get one of those cheezy wal-mart liscense plate frames with the lights around it, but I'd like a bit more red light on the tail of my bike.

Any thoughts??

I don't know if you helmet or now, but I have retro-reflective tape on mine. They even make black now that you can't see during the day unless the sun hits, though the white is much brighter, black kinda glows, white lights up like a X-mas tree to quote my room mate.. I got mine from this guy he even tossed in a spare piece of green to keep the rubber band from denting it. Just watch out when you stick it on, doesn't come off. I'm trying to find some lights I can add to mine too...

If you want to use a reflective material Walmart sells a package of DOT reflective tape, same tape the 18 wheelers, use for about $8. I use some on my helmet, small patches, it doesn't readily comform to compound curves of the helmet and also a strip on the back of my bar bag. It may not look the best but it sure lights up when headlights strike it.

The black tape perfectly followed the curves, the white, not so much. Not sure on your local laws, but maybe a couple of red leds aimed at the tire/ tire, or get some flush mount clearance light, I'm trying to find some that can function like turn signals. That signalminder box is supposed to have a running light function.

Thanks for all the input. I got some white reflective tape and used my pin stripe knowledge and matched into the white "tribal" design on my helmet. If I didn't tell ya, you'd never know the reflective tape is there. But BooYAA, you can see it when the headlights hit it.

Thanks!

Go to this web site, this might be what you are looking for. It is illegal in some states to have yellow light on the back all the time so you may want to turn them red.
