I posted the DR/KLR 650 question in "The Paddock", so any responses can be added there instead of here.

I sat on a used S50 last week, but the foot pegs are still forward like the M50.

i am 5 10", 165 pounds, inseam 31". coming from asia, riding cruiser and big bike is my dream, never had one or ridden one before, only "crouch rocket" under 200cc. and back there we ride on the left side of the road. if this poor little guy can handle the pressure, im sure you can handle it better.
my only problem was i wish the handlebar was 2" more pullback, but i solve the problem with c 50 handlebar, if you do not like it, there is a guy in the forum made a prototype riser fo m50.
so good luck.

I decided to go w/ the DR650. As I mentioned in my first post, I had started out looking at a V-Strom, so a dual sport was always what I wanted to get. If that darn M50 didn't ride so nicely, I would have never given it a second thought. It really is a nice bike.

I sure appreciate everyone's input, and I'm sure I'll look an M50 again when I'm ready to change rides in the future.
