how much difference in sound you get from takin out 2 sets of plates instead of 1? I am waiting on a friend to free up who has the bits and drill to debaffle, but not an extention to reach that far back

Any sound clip comparissons out there? I have the back plates out, but not the inside ones.

Does the inside plate theed to be drilled out like the back plate - I though I had seen on a post at one time that you can knock it out with a broom handle and hammer to break the welds on each side - no?

05HDRAM, what exactly does wrapping the baffles in fiberglass do? Does it give it a better sound? How is that compared to no baffles on the cobra's? Btw, much appreciation to you guys for responding and giving your honest opinions.

Oh, and another question. Does the gas mileage decrease with aftermarket exhausts? Again, much appreciation for your patience and aid.

Wrapping the baffles took out the of the tingy metal sound, made it a little deeper at idle. It did not make it any quieter from what I can tell. I am glad I did it, and if you do it just don't expect a big change.

I really can't answer that. It's hard not to give it the occassional smack of the throttle to hear that nice rumble, so I use a little more gas. I really can't see where it would a big difference in mpg, as your not making a huge increase in performance.

Well, this has been most helpful. I can honestly say I'm leaning more towards the Cobra's now and feel more confident in my decision. I know it's the oldest question that never seems to die, so I thank you for your help. I should be getting them by the beginning of next month. I'll keep you posted on how it goes.
