Unhappy What comes in the OEM Tool Kit?

I don't believe I received a complete toolkit on my M50 that I picked up yesterday. Can somebody tell me item for item what is supposed to be in there? I know for sure that my shock tool is missing.

I don't remember everything but 2 or three things that seems to be missing in some are:

1. Spanner wrench to adjust the rear shock preload.
2. Spark plug socket/wrench.
3. A socket that looks like a smaller version of the spark plug wrench.

There's also wrenches in 17mm, 14mm, 12mm, 10mm, 8mm, some multi-tools and a bunch of allen wrenches. That's what came in my '05 M50 toolkit.

Shock tool isn't included in the 2008 tool kit, IIRC.

My kit with the 07 came with 2 allen wrenches, 2 open end wrendhes, plires and screw driver...I call Suzuki USA...and they said thats all they include now....I told her to look at manual and under removing spark plug it said to use tool in kit, they sent me one, and a note, saying was a misprint in manual, and they would fix it, so thats all you will get now. My manual does give a part number to buy shock tool.

This is what came with my '05 M50.

what-comes-oem-tool-kit-s4020024.jpg

The spanner wrench and spark plug wrench are a must. However, mine was put up somewhere for about 2 years and I just found the kit only a few weeks ago. So you can do what you need without the toolkit but the spanner and plug wrench make life so much easier.

The kit with my 06 included almost the exact same stuff pictured in Jims pic. Difference is I got 3 open ended wrenches in my kit, and I didn't get the piece pictured on the far right that has what looks like 9 different nut sizes in it.
Seems pretty cheesy to me that they'd stop including the spanner for the suspension. Of all the items in the kit, thats the one piece that can't be picked up with a simple trip to sears/ace/etc. Especially since the extension bar for it is a separate and necessary piece. Without it, I was unable to get enough of my hand on the spanner to stiffen the suspension. Once I realized what the piece was, I was able to make the adjustment in seconds. They probably even sell them individually...

I think I'm missing one opened end wrench thats laying around somewhere in the garage. Pictured is the 17/14mm and the 12/10mm.

Do the dealers keep the spanners to sell them later? Anyone bought one from a dealer?

I didn't buy one, but my book has the part number in it, and says buy at your dealer. Looks like they forgot to change the spark plug tool to say that...or they woundnt of sent me one, Im sure it will be updated soon, from the letter they sent me.

I have an 08 as well and it's hard to believe Suzuki couldn't spring (no pun intended) for the shock adjusting tool and the spark plug wrench. Probably cost them pennies on the dollar for those few tools they are not including...

I went to adjust my shock and was like

Anyway, I had some extra tools from other bikes, but that sucks if you end up having to buy the shock adjusting wrench...

I didn''t get the shock adjusting tool in the 07 kit, when I asked was told it didn't come with one. (hmm hate being old) in the old days we used to have to replace the tools anyway because they were only pressed steel and bent when used same with the allen keys. So I have been customising the M50 tool kit as I find which tools I need the most.(I still have the spanners from my 74 Yamaha 360 I bought new and they have never been used)

ok last night when I got home I figured I would take a look to see what tool kit came with my 2007 M50 LE ...
and now that I'm looking at DJ's tool kit I'm a little shocked to say the least ...
I only have 6 of the 16 pieces from the original kit that DJ has.

Looks like my freakenpeepsHip[t]s took the majority of my kit!

can you say Wha Wha Wha!
