|  VA Side mounted plate Warning
So forgot something at home on my way to work and turn around to get it. i am not going slow. at the usual place, a cop is sitting radaring and he pulls me over. 50ish in 35 or 25 or whatever. But more importantly he said that i had to have my license plate on the back, not on the side. he was really cool and we looked at the bike for a while. didn't get a speeding ticket, but did get a ticket for improper display of a license plate. it might be one of those obscure laws that they either use to 1) do you a favor but still get you on or 2) use as an excuse to pull you over. either way i got a ticket and have to pay...let's see...well, it's not coming up yet so i don't know but i'd imagine 80-90 bucks. Whatever. Moral of the story: don't try to engage in human trafficking or the like in Virginia with side mounted plates. Asking for trouble.  |
