Default M50 rear fender mod

Here's where I'm at so far. I'm currently using the stock fender. I've had to use supports with this mod because 1) it's a plastic fender and 2) I don't have any welding equipment. But I should be able to weld supports this summer. If I can weld it, remove the side supports and keep the fender, I will. Otherwise I'll switch to a steel fender. Not being able to weld right now is a huge disadvantage witha mod like this. It has given me some great ideas of how I'll do it this summer.

Anyhow, here are some pics.


Here you can see the metal support that will support the fender. The bolts sticking up near the front of the fender are what I will use to attach the fender from the top and cut off the excess bolt.

I designed this to accept the stock tail light which is an integrated tail light. BTW, the fender isn't as close to the tire as it looks in the pic.
