Default Finally was nice out...

I actually had a chance to take some pics of the bike. The intake is what everyone always honks their horn about on the highways, but Harley guys all compliment me on the Mapam Forward Assemblies/Controls. I've been thinking about a seat... just don't know which one yet.

Yeah, great job. Where did you get the side license plate mount? The forward controls look great, but they look like they'd hurt your cornering clearance quite a bit. do you find that to be true?

I posted some of mine earlier in this thread, but since then I've gotten a big shipment of goodies. Here it is with all the new stuff bolted on.

Metzeler ME880s front and rear, stock pipes debaffled and fibrosleeved, C50 handlebars, beverage holder, Bakup backrest, Hellcat windshield, and Show Chrome highway bars.

Still to come are pegs for the highway bars, Power Commander, Hypercharger, side-mounted license plate, an integrated taillight, and some kind of mod (yet TBD) to increase the brightness of the headlight.

Thanks for the comments...

Upstate, yes, I am running the intergrated taillight LED kit. I got the site right from this forum... run a search and you'll find it. I picked one Saturday to do all this work (sidemount, 2" drop, forward controls, taillight) and believe it or not... that taillight was the longest and hardest thing to do. You need patience to do it... you have to dremmel your original taillight cover. It took me about an hour to carefully get it done. Feels great and looks awesome when you get it done though.

Mxedit, the sidmount plate holder I got from either Thunder Manufacturing or Phatmotorcycleperformance or something. Again, I got the site right from this forum... a search should pull it up. (I love this forum. My bike was stock until just this past March when I found this forum). The forward controls I got from ebay... the are Mapam. I originally tried to get them from JpCycles but they had their model numbers all mixed up and sent me the wrong ones... then they had the nerve to tell me that Mapam wasn't making them anymore. I did a search on ebay and they came right up. The guy I bought them from is "Cao Distributing". Awesome to work with... had the controls to me within a week, no joke. As far as clearance... believe it or not, they give me more clearance then the stock setup. I've attached pics... there are 2 bolts on the bottom of the assembly... the 2 biggest bolts on the bottom. Inbetween both of these bolts is where the stock peg would be. If you notice on my controls, not only does it move forward quite a bit, but they are above the original placing for the stock peg. And, since you're feet are on the peg at a slight angle now, rather then on top of the stock peg, you will scrape the bottom of your heel before the peg... trust me, you have plenty of "happy" space before you scrape

It's kinda late out here, I just got back home from watching the game. I'll go through my emails and receipts see if I can find the correct site for that intergrated taillight set up and the side mount plate holder for you guys. I just need to get to bed. Thanks again for the comments... I'm the only M50 I know out of all my freinds. It's good to have some feedback from people who own the same bike. Later.

Edit: http://www.motorcycle-journal.com/fo...+license+plate
... that's the sidemount plate holder... click that link in there. It's in the first post after the second or third pic. Then click, Suzuki > M50 > License Plate > and it's the Universal Holder... $37. You have to dremmel out the hole a little bit to fit that bolt. ....okok, bed time.

Double Edit: So I couldn't fall asleep, what?
http://www.customled.com/PRODUCTS/IN...levard_m50.htm
... that's the intergrated taillight. ... g'nite.

Bike looks great.

Which back rest is that?
Does it let you sit all the way to the back of the seat?

It's made by a company called "Bakup". I got it from Oneida for like $300. I know, it's expensive as heck, but it's very comfy for me...

I think I remember your thread about the grasshopper backrest, and how it pushed you too far forward. This one is no different. But I'm short (5'8") and that's exactly what I wanted. This one is fully adjustable (front, back, up, down) and I have mine almost (85%) all the way back and as low as it will go. If I were any taller, it wouldn't work well without some kind of mod to mount it further back.

If you want some close up pics, just let me know and I'll post a few.

Actually, here are the pics. I guess the backrest actually is perpendicular to the stitching on the seat, which is what you wanted, if I recall your thread correctly.

You'll see a bolt at the hinge. Pushing the backrest forward (it's spring loaded-- helps when swinging you leg over the bike to mount it!) you expose the head of that bolt. By screwing this bolt in or out, you adjust the fore-aft position of the backrest (it actually adjusts the fore-aft tilt more than anything else). As you can see, I currently have it mostly screwed in. But if I screwed it all the way in, and then raised the backrest, it would sit a bit further back.

Thanks for the Info and the photos Nic,

This is just a bit out of my price range. I still hope to get a better fit with the grasshopper backrest.
Still waiting for the extra parts.

Here are my latest pics. I am still waiting on my Morton Violaters to come in. I also just ordered some leds to use as turn signals so I can get rid of the ugly pods.

Mighty sweet bike, blue reaper. Okay, I'll be the first to ask- how did you make or find those fenders?

I got the rear fender from fuel fabrications and a friend cut my front fender to match the rear fender.
