Nope just use a motorcycle jack and spin the wheel.. it might be easier to do with them off but its however you want to do it, and yes use some good quality tape that will seal it off and make a straight line at the edge.. and its just paint so the aircraft stripper (most parts stores have it) will bubble it up and it comes off..... the best way to do it would be remove the wheels then the aircraft stripper.. then use some fine sand paper then polish them and spray some clear over it... that way you dont have to polish them all the time

Bro don't ever let a HD guy tell you what your bike should look like!!!! Just tell him his chromed out bike looks like it belongs in a circus and to step off.

Has anybody ever blacked out the chrome cylinder cooling fins? I'd like to see that one done.

LMAO!! I'm not against a blacked out bike, BK's is nice! I've dressed mine up with some plastic/chrome and it looks good......since mine is blue!

Hey RAddiction,

Here are some pics to illustrate what I was trying to say about the trimming and zippers on my saddlebags. I hope they help get the points across.

The single lacing may seem a bit weak, but the rear seat keeps it really secure and the zip-ties to the bag supports help.

Thanks Q. I'm gonna start looking at some of the local bike shops to see what they have.

RAddiction,

Certainly check out the local shops, but if they don't have them, and you still want the Raptors, the following online shop is where I bought mine. It took about 2 weeks to get them and I have no complaints about what I got and how I got it.

http://www.cruisercustomizing.com/

Personally, I really like a clean look without a lot of buckles, rivets and adornments.

I have a question for DK.

How did you accomplish the "blacking" on the forks, headlight, speedo cover, tank console, etc.? I am really getting to like the look. Do you own/work at a coating shop?

Considering what looks like a blacked primer Impala/Malibu, I'm guessing you really like black.

Sorry, it took so long for me to reply...real busy week so far. The Dark Knight hit it right on the head. It's not really a hard process. Doing the edge seems to be the way to go. I'm not too sure about polishing the whole rim though.

I was working at Steve Cook Creations (high end body shop/ hotrod shop), I only did a few parts up there but didnt really like how the hot hues hotrod black looked on different peices... what really works is sanding/scuffing all the chrome parts with around 400 or 350... and here it goes.. KRYLON from walmart or Steves wholesale tools (Steves wholesale seems to have the better semi gloss black over walmart dont know why just does)... The flat black works great and the yes the ol chevelle behind it was all done with it.. On the m50 i pulled off all the parts that where chrome but the forks... i just stripped them off the handle bars and fender, and put plastic over the bike, sanded them lightly, tape off what you want to leave "shiney" and then spray it.. i even did the gas cap the same way even though thats an old picture and doesnt show it... people dont believe thats what i did but.. thats what i did........... my profile has a couple albums you can see a little more maybe

Rad.... you should have someone photo shop the wheels polshied.. you could do it.... its going to take some time if you did it yourself with a small sanding block and file... but what would be a good idea is to smooth everthing up to where the bumps are gone then have them chromed or powder coated

Nice!!!! This is my old car, I miss it. It's running in the Quick 8's at a local track and has ran 8.70 at 160+MPH. Has ran the best of 8.40. Of course when I owned it it was a 13.0 car but it was and still is clean and black!

Thanks BK. I'm not too surprised about using rattle-can paints. Many times the simpliest methods are the best.

Nice chevelle. I've always liked the flat black look.

Your's and MacGyver's are really inspiring.

Didnt even place! I was in the japanese class and lost to a Mean Streak and a VTX1800 both with about 15 grand in chrome and paint, and a 75 Honda 750 that looked like it came off the showroom floor.

Thinking I should have just gone for the custom class and gone head to head with the Hardleys.
