Thanks. I'm planning on a lot more. After I pay it off I'm going to start saving for a red, white and blue paint job and replace the Boulevard badges on the tank with a similar type of badge but American flags. Once I do that though I have to replace the saddle bags with hard mounted ones because throw overs hide too much of the rear fender.

More recent pix riding along Keensburg, NJ - near the beach and rides. Pretty dead on a Saturday - completely empty lot... calm before the storm.

I'm just thrilled to be riding pretty regularly, minus rainy days.

The bags are Willie & Max Raptors (mid-size). I had to trim the lacing panels down so that I didn't have a bunch of overlap sticking out beyond the seat. And I had to trim out a portion of the leading edge so that the rear seat could fit back in without it's front rubber feet having to rest on two layers of lacing flaps. I was worried about not being able to get the seat back on under the retention bar. I wasn't worried about the rear rubber feet and I didn't have a problem re-installing the seat.

The bags themselves are attached using zippers and have a flap both above and below zipper to protect the fender and provide a cleaner look on top. The zippers make it very easy to remove just the bags without having to disassemble the seat. However, I've zip-tied my bags to my bag supports so I'd have to remove those too. I didn't want the bags leaning out while taking the twisties.

I'll post some pics when I get home from work.

I'm assuming that you used the tape to shield the rim and create a straight edge, then you used the stripper to remove the black powder coat.

Do I have that right?

Btw - That does look really nice.

Some HD guy that I used to work with used to get on my chit about the black wheels, telling me it looked like an Amish bike (beings that I live near the Amish area of Pa). Gotta do this!

Love it!! My next mod.....unless I lower the front a bit

Did you remove the wheels from the bike to do this?
