Let me see if I can figure out how to post a picture. I'm sure it's somewhere in this thread but I haven't found it yet in the 14 pages

Ok, so I resized it so I could upload the pic, now how do I make it so you can click on the pic and see the full size version?

I don't think you have to resize it, just try to upload it straight from your computer.

You can go here to practice. Test Forum - Motorcycle-Journal Forums

first off, thank you Womper and 1badbaker.
yes, that's one of the baffles. I want to try wrapping them with a little of that fibrosleeve stuff just to see how they sound.
I wish I had a decent recorder to post with/without baffles sounds.

i don't think this is a good idea.
When you wrap them, you really restrict the fumes flow and blocking the holes that let the gases out.
It might create a huge back pressure on your engine.

the fibrosleeve works by muffling the noise by "cushioning" the inside of the pipe so the sonic vibration from the exhaust is not "hitting" the pipe wall, hence reducing the over all noise level and absorbing some of the high pitch.

If you wrap the baffles with fiberglass, you will block the exhaust pipe and might damage your engine.

Any added info/correction to this will be helpful

I was only going to wrap the outside in hopes that it would change the pitch a little-much like the fibrosleeve takes out some of the higher pitched sound. There is still the main hole in the middle of the baffle, so I don't think it will offer any extra restriction. I was thinking that it might act a little like a cherry bomb glasspack muffler.

why not just make a smaller fibrosleeve to fit your pipes (i assume your pipes are thinner than the stock pipes) and not worry about that removable baffle at all?

that is more of what i would do if you want to reduce that high pitch.
