Here's mine. I picked it up on June 5th and I have over 1,400 miles on it already. That's less than five weeks.

I have a Scorpio I500 Alarm installed with all the options, mass sensor, battery backup and ignition kill/hijack alarm. I'd like to pop on my Rumble Road Premium speakers but it doesn't look like there's enough room on the handle bars for them, especially if I ever decide to add a windshield.

This past weekend I put a RAM Mount for my Garmin eTrex GPS on the handle bar.

Hey, I've got that same saddlebag set, the Diamond Plate Bison leather ones right? watch the nylon loops that hold the straps on the tool bag and sissy bar bag. I no longer have the Sissybar bag, I had my Rainsuit in it and was riding to Chicago to see my family, I got there, and noticed that there was just a belt on the back rest, no bag, and no rain suit. I plan on riveting the belts to the bag, Hobby lobby has a cheap riveting kit in their leather section, holds up really well as long as you get them on all the way, I use them to make leather armor.

I got these on eBay for $80, seven bags in the set with two rain covers. They were called Buffalo Leather Saddle Bags. They came with the two saddle bags, sissy bar bag, tool bag, windshield bag, barrel/roll bag and the back pack bag. I asked him if the back pack bag had a way to mount it to the sissy bar and he said it does but it doesn't. All in all I think they're pretty good (can't go wrong for $80) although you're right about watching the loops. I already saw the stitching coming out on the sissy bar bag so I took it off. I contacted the merchant and he's sending me a whole new set. I offered to repair them locally with a slight refund to compensate for the cost of the repair or return the two that are defective but this is what he wanted to do. I'm still unsure if he wants this set back and if he does I hope he includes a prepaid return label because I don't feel like spending $20 to return a whole set of bags when only two of them were damaged. The barrel bag's plastic clip is being pushed in by too much leather around it so it's in a constant state of release, not a good idea if it was put on the rear rack using those straps. Thanks for the suggestion about the rivet tool at Hobby Lobby. I might just go there tomorrow and pick one up just to make sure. My tool bag has one long leather loop that the belt goes through. It was a pain in the butt to get it through there too.

for the price, i'd say fix it yourself with rivets, etc...

a new set will probably give you the same problems... toughen them up and keep riding. they look like a nice set, so just invest in them a little and they'll last you a long long time

Yeah, its the same set. The rainflys are nice, I tested them out on the trip home from Chicago, kept the water out nicely. I used a bungee cord over them to the bag guards to out of fear of losing them, keeps them from making maddening flapping noises too, glad you caught it before you lost it.

I just bought the rivet tool, leather laces and mini punch set. I figure what I'll do is take off those crappy loops and add on some heavier nylon loops and rivet them on not only on the top but on the bottom too. Then I plan on getting rid of those belts they included. They look cheap. I'm going to add some 1" nylon web belts, which are stonger and can be made to fit. I might even just put them right on the bags themselves instead of dealing with loops. I bought the leather lace because I was thinking of punching holes into the bags and tying them to the bars and forks but I don't think the leather is strong enough to handle that. It's look a lot nicer though. When I do it, I'll post pictures of the results. Thanks for the suggestions.

My latest pics ...
Installed the National Cycle Street Shield which the way I installed it works perfectly and no more forced riding.
Also purchased a 1500 lb lift for the bike and changed my final shaft oil. And install my H4 PIAA lightbulb which improves visibility.
Just waiting on my Kuryakyn mirrors.

Anyone have more pictures of their M50 with a windshield? My parents said they'd buy me one for my birthday if I wanted one but I'm not sure what it'll look like. Right now I like not having it on there but here in Fort Worth on Loop 820 the winds can get pretty severe. What I'm afraid of is the windshield acting as a sail when a strong cross-wind comes by and blowing me into the next lane or into the wall. It happened to some guy on a Harley.

To tell you the truth, I've never really checked what kind of mileage I get.

These shots are from last year. I've had to change the mounting bracket positions since I installed the risers, but I pretty much got it set up in the same position.

I can't compare it to other shields since this is only the one I've ever had. I really like it not just because of how it looks but also function wise it takes the wind off the chest. I wear a full face so if you want more protection, you're probably better off going with something bigger.
