| Hello all. I am planning on getting a cruiser very soon, in the next few days and I am almost positive that I have narrowed it down to the M50. I used to have a GSXR 750 a few years ago so I know how to ride but am new to a cruiser. It seems that all the reviews point me toward the M50, plus I like it's styling the best. I have sat on one twice and it feels very comfortable, but that was for 2 minutes in the showroom and doesn't reflect how it will feel after riding it for hours. I am 6'2, 240lbs and just wanted some opinions to see if anyone thinks the bike may be too small for me. Again this will be my first cruiser so I don't know exactly what to look for in terms of sizing up the bike and all I know is that it did seem to fit me fine when I sat on it but I just wanted to make sure I don't make a mistake by getting one and then wishing I got one larger. It does seem like a great bike though and I can't wait to get it if in fact it is the one I choose. I have an appt with a sales rep tomorrow at noon so I may be riding home with one tomorrow. In the meantime though if anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate it. Thanksv |

| 6'0" 340 here, M50 is fine. I've got at 30" inseam, so the stock peg position is fine for me. You may want to look into adding some Johnskit forward controls when you get your M to move the footpegs forward about 3-4".

| The M will power you around without a problem, but you may want to look at a bigger bike before making your final decision. I came from riding sportbikes as well, and sometimes I do wish for some more power. The M handles great for a cruiser, get's a respectable mpg, and has lot's of great features. I was not disappointed with buying it, and will hang on to it for a while. It is a great all around bike. I really like the M109R2, problem is I don't really want an 1800cc bike - it's overkill for me. A 1200 would be about perfect, but then your talkin quite a few dollars more. Maybe an option to consider is buying used. You could save some cash, and put that towards mods, or you may even find one with mods you like. |

| thanks so far for the replies. I would love to start out with a bigger bike but I am focusing in on the mid cruisers because you are able to pick them up for so cheap. This decision to get another bike was kinda spur of the moment and I really should not be getting one but convinced myself by saying how I could pick a real nice bike like the M50 up for $6-7k. Looking at bikes in the $10 plus price range is something that I really don't want to do right now. Although I love the Yamaha Raider in black and was almost tempted to talk to the dealer about one of those today...But no I am focusing on something in the lower price range and I do really love the way the M50 looks in black. Also I just plan on using it after work and on weekends to get back and forth from the boat and friends houses so I keep the mileage low on the car, save some in gas and have fun while getting there and back. If I was planning on some serious cruising I would be looking at the larger bikes.

| The M50 is the best bang for your buck. Trust us, you wont regret it. Besides, you've already narrowed your search down to the M50 versus the M50. If I were you, I would choose the M50.

More to your point. I'm 6'1 and 240 and I love the bike. I was instantly addicted even though this is my first bike. I have very long legs and a knee condition that makes most cars unbearable to sit in for any length of time but this bike never makes me sore after roughly 4-6 hours a day of riding since I got it last week. I'm no expert on what kind of power it has since it's my first but now that I've passed the break in period, maxing the throttle really gets my blood pumping even dragging my heavy ass around. I think they style is unmatched in the category and the size is fantastic. It's much roomier to sit on than a Vulcan 800 and gets better mileage too. I was also interested in the mid range cruiser level because of price but also because this was my first bike but after doing my research and checking out and sitting on all the bikes at 10 different stores, I was fully confident, and I hope you will be too, that this bike is the best mid size cruiser anybody has to offer.

| BOUGHT IT!! Got a great deal and rode home on one today. All Black 08 M50. Put about 60 miles on it so far and loved every minute of it. I can't wait to get a new set of pipes on there. The stock exhaust sounds great but is toooo quiet. THanks again for all your responses. I feel confident I chose the right bike. |

| Congrats. Here some reason's why the M50 is a such a good deal: 1. You get a lot of bike for the price. 2. They are great if you leave it stock. That's not just my opinion, but the opinion of just about every motorcycle magazine review of the M50 and comparisons of it with other middleweight cruisers. (It's seems funny to call it a middleweight cruiser. Two decades ago, my do-everything-so-dang-great Virago 535 was considered a middleweight cruiser!) 3. Because M50s are on the lower end of the price range, they free up more money for mods. 4. Because M50s are on the lower end of the price range, you're more likely to do mods if you want. 5. M50s have a distinct personality, whether it's stock or all the way to fully dressed. 6. The camaraderie among M50 owners appears to me to be 2nd to none. I have yet to come across a "my M50 is better than your M50" owner yet. Our bikes are either stock, personalized, customized or modded. Not better, just different and owners are ready to share what they did and how they did it for the benefit of other M50 owners. 7. Suzuki invented the 800cc cruiser and has supported it well.
