I've only been riding for a short time now, but already I am feeling the need to get a windshield. Mosquitos are in full force out where I live in the country and my my torso and helmet take a pounding whenever I leave the house. (my chest literally is greenish yellow when I arrive places sometimes...) Also, at high speeds (this bike will be used for freeway commuting often) I have a hard time with the amount of wind hitting my body as I feel like a air brake that my engine must fight against. The bug problem is unavoidable, so I'm definitely going to have to get a windshield. But I wanted to ask you more experienced riders if I can expect a reprieve from the extreme wind resistance fatiguing my arms and torso or if the windshield really doesn't make that much of a difference at highway speeds(the slowest speed roads within 5 miles of my house are 55mph). Lastly, does anyone my height use the OEM windshield or is it just inadequate for a person as tall as I. I don't have a very tall torso, (long legs) if that helps but i'm still not really short... I want to get a windshield, but I don't want to ruin the profile of my bike and I can seem to tolerate the look of the OEM shield more so than the typical Memphis shades giant round strait up shield look. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. -Jason |
