| Hey Gang Just curious on whether debadgin (fully or partially) actually devalues resale value, I'm assumin that it depends on the next buyer. But I would have thought in general it would lead to some devaluation. Wouldn't hav thought gettin the warning stickers off would make a difference, but the others...mmm...I dunno...appreciate your thoughts. Great forum BTW cheers Snowy |

| It probably depends on how you're selling it. My guess is if it's a private sale, you probably increase resale a smidgeon (a scientific measurement if ever there was one!!) by having a cleaner appearance to the bike. The title/registration tells them all they need to know about what kind of bike it is. If you're trading it in at a dealer, you're probably decreasing resale a bit because the dealer would like people to come into his showroom floor and know what kind of bike it is instead of having to tell everyone. This is, of course, my completely unprofessional opnion. |

| That all depends on who you're selling the bike to. Dealer would obviously want the badges.....Private seller may not care for them. See, I'm a geek |

| Doesn't matter... metrics don't have the great of a resale value anyhow. At least out here they don't.

| In Training ![]() | Profane is right. That is one thing those Harley's have on us...they hold their resale value very well, just not their oil!! But I also agree, don't sell it!! My buddy and I went on a ride today, and halfway through, we switched bikes. He has a 2008 Harley Nightster, and I must say it was the most uncomfortable thing I have ever ridden! I felt like I was riding a dirt bike, but with more power. I couldn't wait to get back on my M, but unfortunately, I could not get my buddy off it! He realized how much more comfy and agile the M was and wouldn't switch back until we got home.

| I guess it all depends on how good a paint job you have done. A very good themed paint job (flames for example) would look better on a plain tank. Any kind of mural would also look better without a badge. However, murals and the like will be mucho bucks, so the return would be minimal. But it would increase the resale values.

| These ideas always intrigue me. When you do any sort of modification, who are you doing it for, you, or the next owner? Because if resale is that important, don't modify it at all. Personally, I modify mine to where I want them, and if it costs me 200 bucks 5 years from now, so be it.

| put more chrome on it; that out to help or reduce the chances that the next guy will notice the badge is gone.
