I have an '07 M50 with an OEM windshield and get between 50 - 58 mpg. I weigh about 145 lbs. and have saddlebags on my bike that usually carry about 25 lbs. total. I mostly ride on country roads where I average about 40 mph as per my GPS data summary information.

I weigh about 200 lb, and no matter how fast or slow I go, no matter what after market toys I've added (air box, FI computer, pipes) I never get less than 50 mpg. I've gone at least 40 miles or so with the light blinking. I use 93 octane gas mainly because the oil companies put all the detergent stuff in their premium fuels and that keeps the injectors nice and clean. It costs about an extra dollar per fill up but I can live with that when my bike runs as well as it does and gets the gas mileage it does.
