Default My Modding Experience

Hopefully this will help some of you in the future.

Mods I just completed:

De-Baffled stock exhaust (summer of 2007)
De-Mickey'd stock exhaust (I'm addicted)
Installed Hyper Charger
Installed PCIII FI Mod
Saddleman Profiler Seat

1. De-Baffling is awesome. You should do it. Don't bother asking in the forum, just do it. I used this video as instruction.De-baffle this!
I highly recommend it, however I would note that my bike back fired a bit at high rev on occasion. Do it anyways.

2. De-Mickey: I got addicted to loud. Basically, you have to mangle the inside of your pipes. I used a very large, very thick steel pipe used for chain link fence, and a sledge hammer to pound my mickey plates out. It sounds amazing - but be warned - my bike barely ran after doing this. Stalled out, sputtered, back fired... not good. Running way too rich. I did this before I ordered my PCIII FI mod, which was a bad idea. If you are going to do this, just order your FI mod first.

3. Hypercharger: Looks cool, and I feel a bit of a performance increase with this and the PCIII. That being said, I think the claims of 7-9 HP gain, are either BS, or I'm using the wrong map (see below). Hyper charger was a very easy install, and I ordered it from Phat Performance Parts. They were great, and good shipping to Canada for you fellow canucks. It really does look cool, but I don't know that it makes a huge performance difference.

4. PCIII: This thing is magic. Pain in the butt to install (IMHO), but definitely worth while. I used this guide by XERSES:Box.net - Free Online File Storage, Internet File Sharing, Online Storage, Access Documents & Files Anywhere, Backup Data, Send Files
It was extremely helpfull and well written. My only tip - when you go to upload your map, push hard on the usb cable into the PCIII... it seems like you are forcing it, but it needs to click in all the way (on mine it did, anyways).

5. Saddleman Profiler Seat: took a couple of rides to get used to, and I haven't done any long rides yet, but first impressions are that I like the riding position much more (I'm about 6ft tall), and that the extra lower back support will be awesome for long rides. It also looks cool.

So there you have it... I'll get some pics up tomorrow, but I'm very happy with the final results: performance, sound, and comfort wise. Hope this helps someone!
