Default Lights on Mirrors

Has anybody put on those mirrors that has the signal lights built right into them? How easy are they to put on and do they work well enough. Any pics would be great I was thinking about removing the stock ones for those if it was possible!

Sport bikes are the only mirrors like that, I think.

Nah. They're out there for cruisers. I haven't gotten around to getting them yet but here's a few places that have them.

Muth Motorcycle Mirrors - Motorcycle LED Signal Mirrors - Motorcycle Mirror

Muth Mirror Systems, LLC - Motorcycle Signal Mirror® Kits

Custom Turn Signal Running Light Mirrors

etc. etc. etc...

Kuyakyn makes a set that'll look okay on most cruisers. Not my cuppa tea personally.

My bike had these on when I bought it. Absolutely hated them so I took them off. Not for me.

You know, I actually like the Kuryakyn signal mirrors, but I have them wired as running lights... I was considering what they would look like repainted to match the frame/engine...

I actually have been wanting an integrated taillight for a while now but couldn't think of a way to clean up the front. I just found that way, thanks

I found some neat products at Custom Dynamics Motorcycle LED Lights Motorcycle LEDs Lighting that I have bought and installed. Dynamic clusters (dogeyes) for one. Just ordered the self cancelling module for signals to correct a bad habit of mine. Check out the Vectra-lites for the mirror application

I have the Kury mirrors with lights. I like them because was able to remove the stock signals off the forks and still have turn signals up front. Install was pretty easy, just reroute the signal wires from the stockers up and connect the Kury lights to those.

Funnily enough!!....

I have been investigating that very subject.

I quite like these..

Motorcycleworld - Leamington-Spa - Motrax LED Indy Mirrors

The ad says these are discontinued, they are, however, still available at some outlets.

and these..

Motrax Indy Mirrors Mirrors with indicators built in

I am currently 'wearing' the Kuryakin Skull mirrors, however, the viewable area is too wee, and the 'chrome' is peeling already (only been on 4 months!). very disappointed.

No they're priced in GB Pounds, which works out at around $140.00 for the LED ones and $100.00 for the incandescent ones.

If you try ebay.co.uk and search for motrax indy mirrors, you may find a price for international. However, if you are serious about them, it may be cheaper for me to buy them and ship them out to you. (All of the ebay traders hike the shipping).

Let me know if you or anyone else is inerested.

I don't think there's a set that's DOT approved, so it'll be an issue no matter which ones you choose.

I like those a ton, laddie...they're odd, but in a really nice way.

Okay stooopid question time,

If they are not DOT approved does that mean you cannot use them? or could you use them as well as the other (original?) turn signals?

If you're caught not using a DOT approved system as your primary system, you can get a big ticket. If you maintain the factory ones, then you won't get in trouble.

It's all rather annoying because quite often stuff that companies either don't bother to get DOT rating or don't meet it for some reason, are suually better and more visible anyways...

in the US, at least in NY, non-dot equipment tickets are rare, but they do exist.

I found a beautiful set of new mirrors that are exactly what I wanted, so I'm not hunting anymore.

I found a really nice set with subtle flames on the backs, with blue powder coated stems. They really fit the bike well. I'm just waiting on adapters to install em.
