Howdy, I just joined and am looking forward to learning and sharing via this site.

I'm retired, ride quite a bit each summer and do my own repairs and maintenance on my 2005 M50. I've been to Alaska last summer and have extensive travel plans for this upcoming summer, with Nova Scotia and the Cabot Trail on the agenda. A trip to Arkansas for the Volusia Riders rally may be in the works too as well as a trip to Louisville, KY to see a friend there. The Barber Museum gets a visit in July accompanied by a stop by the AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days on the way home. I'd travel even more if the budget allowed.

My M50 is set up for touring with a large Slipstreamer Enterprise fairing with lowers, GIVI 21 Liter side bags and a GIVI 33 Liter top box along with Cobra highway bars and Desert Dawg leg shields. I put extra junk in a 30 liter back seat bag and leave the kitchen sink at home! I like to travel mostly two lane roads, but I've been known to attack a freeway or two along the way, with 200-300 mile days to allow sightseeing.

I'm a life member of the American Motorcyclist Association and host a local breakfast group on Yahoo.com/groups, the Over Easy Saturday Morning Riders. We meet at various restaurants each Saturday, rain, snow or shine.

I'm fairly accomplished with motorcycle electrics/electronics as well as most mechanical repairs since I worked in a motorcycle shop for a few years when my former employer, Control Data, laid me off a while back. Since then I concentrate on helping others in the Twin Cities area with their repairs, tire changes and modifications, mostly for something to do with my time in retirement.

Again, glad to be here and I'll start slow to get acquainted.

Ray Nielsen, in Minneapolis and sitting out winter right now.

Default Welcome

Hi Ray,

I think I have read some posts you have made on Intruder Alert, if so you are bringing a wealth of knowledge to this forum as well.
