| I've decided to come to the experts. I want to swap out my stock passenger pegs with Kuryakyn, nothing fancy just some ISO pegs. However, after speaking with J&P Cycles and a few websites, nobody seems to have an adaptor for passenger pegs. I know alot of you have swapped out your passenger pegs and would like to know what adaptor and pegs you bought. Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks Paul |

| Yesterday my wife was hitting some thrift stores looking for bargains and she ran across some great deals on some motorcycle gear! Apparently, a Harley Davidson shop donated a bunch of parts and gear the day before and most of it was already gone. However, she brought me home two great finds. The first bargain was a bag sold by a company called Bikers Friend. It is a tube type bag that comes with an attachable backrest. I found the bag online for $210 and she only had to pay $18! However, the bag didn't include the attachment straps or the attachable backrest. I already have a driver's backrest on my M50, so I wouldn't have used the backrest anyway. I'll attach a photo from the companies web site below. The second great find applies to the current thread. She picked up a pair of the KURYAKYN PREMIUM ISO FOOT PEGS that retail for around $40 and paid just $2. I installed them on my bike today to replace the stock passenger pegs. I had to improvise a bit, but with a little ingenuity I got them to fit really nice without buying any additional mounting hardware. I removed the retainer clip from the stock pegs and slid out the pins to remove the stock pegs. The new Kuryakyn pegs had a larger diameter hole, so I found a piece of rubber tubing that was a perfect fit to use as a bushing inside the hole. The inside diameter of the tubing fit the pin from the stock pegs perfectly. Next, I had to get a bushing to make the tab of the new peg fit snug in the mounting bracket. For this I found a rubber tab with a hole in in that was just the right thickness to fill in the gap. I'm sorry I don't have a photo to attach of this piece, but I imagine many different things could work just as well. The bushings fit tight enough to hold the new pegs stable when they are in the folded up position when not in use. Attached below is a photo of the pegs before installation. |
