Vertical curved license plate and removing tumor at rear

Hello guys,

I was wondering if I remove the entire license plate, turn signal thingy at the back of the rear fender, if is there a cover I will need to put over it or are you guys that have done this just removing it and leaving as is? I have seen many pictures of it removed and they all look great just hard to tell if there was anything elese done there and could'nt find much info on it.

After thats done my next question is about the curved side mount vertical license plate frames. Is there a specific one someone has found that works on our bikes? I was on ebay and found a couple that might work for good prices:

I thought I read somewhere that someone used a type like this and were able to bolt it to the rear end bolt on the bike? I am more than willing to buy it and try it out just wondering if anyone had any better ideas or insight into making this happen before I dive in? Thanks guys
