Default M50 engine paint question

This is regarding a Suzuki M50. I thought of something, but I'm not sure if it would work or how. I saw a video of a M50 with a sort of chrome engine. It almost looked as if he got some cheap chrome spraypaint and did it himself, and instead of coming out shiney chrome, it came out kind of tarnished looking, but I think it looks pretty cool and different. I was thinking of doing someting similar on my M50. I don't know how really. The look was a dark smokey chrome I guess, kind of rainbowed like oil on water. Does anyone know how I might could get an effect like that? I thought about smearing oil over my engine but I don't know how to make it rainbow up like that, or make it stay if it did. Anybody have any suggestions...heres the video, it's hard to see but if you pause it at 27 seconds you can see it alittle. Any help wuld be appreciated, if not, back to the drawing board.
