My M50 stock pipes...HELP... - Motorcycle-Journal Forums

Here's the question: How does the rear cylinder exhaust pipe heat shield (the chrome piece) mount to the pipe right next to the cylinder?

Perhaps if I explain this would make some sense. I had this wild idea about customizing my exhaust. Since I'm kinda tight on cash I can't really buy anything aftermarket. So I thought why not do something with what I already have. I started removing the heat shields on the factory pipes and managed to get everything off except the rear cylinder shield. Need to figure out how this shield mounts to the pipe right next to the flange. I figure somebody that has removed their factory pipes can give me some insight on this.

Oh yeah, the plan was to see how the pipes look naked and perhaps use some exhaust wrap to change the look. What'd ya'll think?

I thought about that too. But you have the diameter change from the header to the mufflers.
