Default Traded in the M50 in for a Harley Davidson Sportster 1200 Low

Finally found the bike I was looking for when I was shopping for a bike last summer. this is what I wanted and was unable to get when I bought the M50.

It is a 2008 Sportster 1200 Low ride. In Dark blue pearl.

Now my bike is color matched to my other ride, a 2005 Ford Explorer XLT

Nice bike! The truck still sucks though.

oh man! nice ride, I was JUST looking at Sportsters this last weekend! I want one bad, only problem is I do alot of two up riding. I don't think that bike would be good for 2-up riding. It's so light, it feels like a toy! Is it as quick as I think it is?

It weighs the same (give or take a few lbs) as the M50. It is a few inches skinnier and shorter. It is all engine! 80ft/lbs of torque. The first time I goosed the throttle it just about ripped me off of the bike! The steering is so light compared to the M50 because the tires and forks are not as heftier.

The 1200 Sportsters are the quickest (and some what fastest) bikes Harley makes. This is because they are very light and have gobbs of low end torque. Tooling around town and on post I rarely take it out of third gear!

I test rode one earlier this fall, and I liked it. It rides nice, but for the dollar there are a bunch of other bikes I think that have more personality. Nice bike, but not my cuppa tea.

I very much like the look of the sportster 1200 Nightster, but it looks very narrow and skinny compared to the M50. I can't afford, or rather can't justify, a big block Harley so I'm very happy indeed with my M50. But I do respect the Sportsters; nice bikes.

I've heard many a HD guy say that they don't get the Sportster thing, but I think that's one of the best looking bikes Harley make. The narrow styling calls to an earlier time in motorcycling. Really cool!

I love the look/color of the bike, very nice. One of my friends has a sportster and its very quick and pretty nimble in cornering. My only problem is a personal one, wide a$$ doesn't work well with skinny seat. But you can never go wrong with a harley, and it is beautiful. Enjoy the ride!

The 1200 sportster has always been my favorite. It seems to be the most versatile of all HDs to modify if that is your thing. I had a friend that had a 1200 but he put a full size HD tank on it. Man, I loved it.

I was going to purchase the 1200 Nightster before I saw the M-50. This is until I found out the dealer marked the price up 3K over MSRP. I went around to the Metric side and fell in love with the M50.
