Default Thunder Monster Baffles

For those of you V&H Straight Shots, you know that weirdly tinny, almost highpitched "blap, blap, blap" sound you're getting? Solved it.

I bought a set of thundermonster baffles off on of our members, Copronymous (stand up guy BTW)...you can find these baffles on the Thundermonster website bigcitythunder.com for fairly cheap, so it's not an expensive mod. The install couldn't be simpler, remove the set screw on the pipes, the old baffles slide out like butter and then pop in the the new ones. Presto...done, litterally a 2 minute mod.

The old baffles on the Straight Shots, if you haven't looked, are about 12-14 inches long (that's what she said). The new thundermonsters are about 5". Install them one way, LOUD!!! Install them the other, and you get...well louder...but also a whole lot deeper.

Vibration increases significantly, but isn't terrible. What really matters is that it helped me get some backpressure so I got some midrange power back after replacing the pipes. The only thing I did after that was wrap a bolt in electrical tape and stuff it where the Pair Valve comes through, effectively disabling the pair valve and reducing the popping and slight backfiring I got after changing the pipes.

So in short...if you have, or have planned to swap out your pipes...order the baffles, it's worth every penny (IMO)

Slightly related: I disabled the PAIR valve (Using Moccasin Mike's kit) after installing the Cruzers and no longer get any popping or backfiring under engine braking, which I did get with the Cruzers and the PAIR valve enabled. I miss the "Jake Brake" sound effects, but otherwise a successful and worthwhile mod.
