Default What do you think? Intake

So I been toying with the idea,

I like the round look, I decided I didn't want to pay the normal "Motorcycle Cost" for a intake 300+ is too much in my book for a intake.

Still seems in the motorcycle world that everything is a premium cost which is ridiculous, Myself i've always been a fan of lower price a bit and sell more but with bikes it's taken for what ya can and don't worry about it.

So I decided to go the route of if you can dream it you can build it.

6" round air cleaner (generic brand for now) 6" cotton fiber filter 2" deep.. working on making the back plate of aluminum, if all is well i'll be in for about $40.00..

I kinda like the look myself...

PS.. i used a pic of the bike from someplace else as i didn't have a clean pic to work with

The hardest part is going to be getting the back plate made.. depending on what is required i have some resources such as lazer cutter to do the cutting I just need ot get it all fabbed up .. it's only 2" thick.. so it should be nice, as soon as i get it done i will post actuals of it

Going to have to wait on that.. I'm still working on the adapter plate for it.. depending on the outcome, it may be a custom or a few of them that's all I can say right now.. I should have it finished up this week hopefully.. I been a bit busy with some web work no time to ride or work on bike.

You need to get your priorities in line, mate.

This reminds me of a girlfriend I had in high school. That never went anywhere either.

Default Airbox

It would be easy to fabricate an airbox and slap a K&N filter on it. The trouble is figuring out how to transition the fab'd airbox into the oval intake opening. Any ideas on how to solve that transition?

Well I have been studying the diagrams and the only important item on the intake is the air temp sensor.. So I'm going to try and get ride of the oval all together and work my way outward..

tomorrow weather permitting it will be tore apart.. (IE: if its raining I'll do it) I hate to tear into it when it's nice enuff to ride..

my work is insane i have enough for 4 guys... My 7 -3:30 gig is taking acre of 500+ pc's and 27 servers and 700 IP Phones.. then i come home and deal with 6 online stores.. on my own server.. and this has been a bad week .. thank god for the bike to ride to relax...

I'll get it done

I want a high quality look to it so if that means days of hand grinding and fitting thats what I'll do.. i want it to look like it belongs there... no just fabbed on it... IF i can get the first one mad then it goes off to the machine shop for a quote
