| Anybody has any experience with Extended Warranty from Western Service Contracts? The stealership said that I have 30 days from the date of purchase (compared to 1 year for Suzuki) to get the extended warranty. They actually are recommending this compared to the Suzuki Extended Warranty. They said that they've had good experience with them and that you can take your bike to any bike repair shop (US and Canada) and they would cover the services. They quoted me $375 + tax for a 4 year Extended Warranty. Is this a good deal?! |

| That is who I have my extended service through. Not sure if it's 100% true or not, but I was told that in my region (my dealer) that it was the only warranty they offered....that SEP wasn't available directly through them. I mentioned buying the SEP online instead and they didn't budge but I did stretch the Western service contract length out by showing them what I could buy the SEP for through Onieda Suzuki, it gave me an additional year beyond what they were originally quoting me for the Western plan. I don't normally purchase extended warranties on anything I buy, but for my last truck I did since I got it at 1/3 the dealer price by buying it online (New York Toyota dealer that belonged to the truck forum) and it paid off big time when my transmission was replaced. So I figured what the heck and got the extended service on this bike as well. |

| Thanks for the info. I'm thinking that I'll probably get the Extended Warranty since it's my first bike. It's one less thing I have to worry about (just in case something goes wrong with the bike) and would give me some type of peace of mind for next 5 years.

| That seems really cheap. Most extended warranties are bad deals, and this one sounds more sketchy than most. Check the fine print VERY carefully.

| I spent 8 years in finance in insurance on the automotive side, and Western isn'[t a company I would ever do business with. Stick with the SEP if you decide to go with a warranty. Just my .02.

They offer the SEP at the stealership but at about $150-$200 more. I'm thinking that the Western Service deal is too good to be true, but when they showed me the comparison of what SEP covers vs Western Service, It's almost the same. Of course, I haven't really read the fine print. I guess I'll have a couple of more weeks to decide. | |

| Ugh...hopefully I won't even get the chance to try their service. I'd rather nothing break and have paid for the extended service for nothing than end up with some frustrating service experience if something did break. At least if I do need to use it I'll be bringing to the dealer so they darn well better take care of it with no drama considering they are the ones that sold me the contract.
