I wanted something that didn't change the look of the bike drastically, and settled on a single driving light mounted under the headlight. I went to Pep Boys and picked up a set of oval driving lights, they were like $22. I also picked up two 8mm bolts and a cut a 5" piece of aluminum I had from another project. After drilling the mounting holes, I chose to put the base of the light above the moutning plate (there was enough clearance after a little trimming). It sits up high enough so it will not hit the front fender under compression, and it doesn't change the look of the bike too much from stock. I wired it to the exisitng accessory outlet in the headlight, and chose not to add a switch. I figured the additional visibility during the day was an added bonus. I need to buff out the bracket, but will most likely save that for a winter project. |
