| I have read the threads about motorcyle oil vs car oil. So I went out looking for the motorcyle oil and came up with nothing. Where are you guys getting motorcycle oil from? I guessing the stealership will have it, but at what price? I am in the SEATAC McChord AFB area if anyone knows of places to get it in the local area. Thanks for any help.

| Me too. 10W40 is all they stock but that should be good for about 95% of the bikes on the road. Also about $8 a quart. The store I use has it on a seperate display......NOT with the other cage oils. I've heard that some of the larger WalMarts carry petro bike oil.

Are you guys sure that the Rotella T is really a synthetic? I've glanced at some of the cans/bottles/jugs briefly and didn't see any mention of synthetic. I'm gonna have to take a closer look, I guess. ??

| Where I live the price for motorcycle oil is all within a few cents wheather I buy it at walmart or the dealer. Sence the dealer is closer I can say it is cheeper when you facter in the price of fuel.

| My Auto Zone had the Valvoline motorcycle oil. It was across the aisle from all the other oils.

| In Training ![]() | I've been using Mobil 1, 15W-50 gold cap oil ever since it was introduced a few years ago. It doesn't have friction modifiers, is synthetic and seems to work well in my M50 with changes about every 4-5 K miles. I also used the previous 15W-50 Mobil 1 synthetic in previous bikes since about 1983, again with good results. I usually put on about 15-30 K miles/year and the highest mileage I've reached is 179K on an "83 Gold Wing -- it's still running in a friend's possession. I like being able to buy a quart, if needed, at almost any Wal-Mart, K-Mart or Target store. Many auto parts stores handle it too. Oil analysis by Blackstone Laboratories in Fort Wayne, IN document that it's doing the job over the long haul. I've even had good analysis when using it for 9200 miles in a Suzuki Bandit 1200 on a very long trip. Lots of life left according to Blackstone. Ray Nielsen, in Minneapolis, MN |

| My next change I will start the process of switching over to synthetic. My bike only has 5500 miles on it. I am glad I changed the oil, the previous owner didn't have it changed in a while. The oil that came out what pretty dark. After I changed it I took her for a ride, I believe I heard her tell me she loved me for changing her oil. |

| Newbie | I've used Mobil One in my cars and trucks for a long time and swear by it. At their website they have two synthetics specially formulated for motorcycles. A 10W-40 and a 20W-50. You can read about them here: Motorcycle Oils |
