Talking Hello and Help....................

New here, New ('97) M this past Sunday.
I'm looking forward to using this site/forum.
I think my bike needs a tune-up. It's got a little over 12k on it.
It starts great and idles great. It runs smooth to mid-range then all hell breaks loose, missing out, popping, sputtering etc. until I back off the gas or go up a gear. It is bone stock except for a new K&N filter the guy put on a month ago (and a few leather and chrome accents.)
The bike is awesome, I'm dying to ride it.....but am totally new to the modern/Suzuki bikes. (I always had Hondas before and the most recent was an '84.) Which I retired with a healthy 63k on it.........90% of them mine.
Anybody.....any suggestions of where to start?
