Question Squeaky front brakes

I have an 07 M50 Limited w/ 1800 miles. Everything is in good working order but the front brakes squeak. Is that bad or normal? Is there anything I can do to stop it? Thanks

I have an 06 and mine squeak every now and then (haven't noticed it for a little while, maybe it is too hot out). I figured it was normal. Sometimes it is irritating.. but I figured I'd live with it.... I have about 1400 miles.

mine squeak too, my dealer said it's cuz alot of people don't use their front brakes as much as their rear. He said the more you use them the less they squeak, of course he also said he had to charge me more for my M50 cause he only had 2 left......

Start simple, Clean the disk with brake cleaner.

I think I use the front brakes more than the back, but try to use the both equally.

This seems to be a common complaint on several recent model Zuki's.
My little GZ even does it...a LOT.
The only permanent fix seems to be changing the pads to a different brand than OEM. I have decided to live with it until I actually NEED new pads.

thanks for the post... i just came back from a 1000km ride and during the whole trip they were squeeking a bit more pronounced.

i didn't know if they were damaged or just brake dust making a mess. time to buy some brake cleaner.

Mine does it. I've been told that it is because of over usage or riding the front brake to long. That the rotor has gotten to hot and I believe they said it would cause it to warp slightly. no big deal but....

thats what i was told. i can see it being valid but i don't know.

Having owned at least 25 motorcycles with front disk brakes.. they could all be fixed with brake cleaner. The only exception a warped disc which was replaced by warranty. If you've worn through the disc pad and it's squeaking, you may have to replace more than the disc pad

this gives me a warm and fuzzy.
it's a new bike and i only have 2000 miles on it... i'm not too agressive on the brakes either.

hell, i had a hyundai accent for 9 years and changed the front brakes at year 8 (65,000 miles) doubt the brakes on the bike would last that long
