Default Noise from rear hub area

Just today, I noticed today that my bike makes a clicking or popping type noise when I roll it across the garage floor. The noise comes from the rear hub area.

It is not constant. What I am saying is, if I rolled it 30 feet across the floor, the noise comes and goes.

I had my rear tire changed a month or so ago. I did have the splines in the hub and shaft greased but not the other end of the shaft. I saw them do it, because I ask to have it done and watched to be sure it was done. They did not pull the shaft out to do the other end though.

The noise is from in the hub. It is not loud but easy to hear.

I read the threads about greasing the drive shaft splines at both ends.

Not sure if this is the problem, since the area of the noise was just greased a month ago.

Any comments?

My bike has a little over 6000 mile.

Does anyone else notice this noise on their bike when pushed and in nuetral?
