Well this is the follow-up from an earlier post. My plan was to ride up to Colorado from basically Arkansas and come back... All interstate highway driving, a few back roads. ..... ......... Okay, I have way too much to tell and I'll add on later, but the jist is I meet my buddies, whom I havent seen in like 6 years, about three hours from my destination beacuse I had been riding for some 900 miles in one day. So it was getting dusk and they come out with the truck and trailer. They set it all up and I go back and test the straps with a few solid tugs. So we head down the on ramp and get about twenty yards onto the road when SNAP SNAP and two straps are broken and the bike flips completely over the side of the trailer and all I see are sparks. We stop (she drug for about 100 feet) and I check it out. only damage was done to the headlamp cover assembly. Got into town buy a new one put it on in about 30 minutes. The bike looks brand new still... Well 10,000 miles in a year new anyway. So I hang out for a week and drive around maybe 500 miles while I was there (A few friends now have bikes as well) I leave to ride the 1300 mi. home. I stop over in Kansas City MO. To see my other friends before I take 71 south down the kansas-missouri line. I stopped before I left and saw all the guys and my friend (well call him John) was fine before I left, get back about two weeks later and he has gone "God-complex, catatonic, cognitive positive/negative schizophrenic." So yeah.... big shock there. Spent an extra day there helping my other best friend Chris take care of his family and his whife. So a few days later I'm down in my town drinking a few beers and relaxing with Chris, drained us emotionally and I was totally drained physically.... Oh yeah the day after I got back I had plans (promised) to be in springfield (50 miles away) to go on a poker run for the Vets home.. I wasnt going to miss that and it was a really nice ride, but it was another three hour ride and then an hour back... I think I've logged over 2500 miles in the past two weeks.... Bike: Boulevard M50. Mods: Sissybar, luggage rack, T-bags expandable universal luggage bag. And a guitar. FEELS GOOOOOOD TO BE HOME!!!!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() |
