| Sound Off... 14.5 Years USAF Spent the first 9 as Avionics (Guidance and Control Systems) on C-5s at Travis AFB, CA. Got my degree in CompSci and crosstrained to a Comm-Computer Systems Programmer. Been at Fort Meade ever since. IMO I have the coolest job... I work for certain govt agency actively collecting intelligence and penetrating/exploiting foreign systems. I want to hear what some of the rest of you do since it seems we have a large community of military, active and retired.

| Got out in 2000 after 12 yrs in the Navy. Spent a couple of years in school in Groton CT to become a Submarine Radioman. Did a stint overseas where I met my wife in London UK. Alot of those 12 years spent in Norfolk VA. Still miss it sometimes, just don't miss the paychecks.

| Newbie | Been in the Navy 8 years last month. Started working with CH-46 Search and Rescue (SAR) helicopters, then SH-60's. Now I'm stationed in Lemoore, CA working on F-18 Super Hornets. I mainly deal with Aircrew Survival equipment like parachutes, survival vests and g-suits. Hoping to switch to a different Aircraft platform in another year.

| 10 years in the AF as a 1N5. Now one of those dirty money grubbing contractor types. Loved the AF, but glad I got out in '04.
