Default HID Headlight?

Can anyone recommend an HID light for the M50? I tried doing a search but it does not allow 3-letter words...I also tried a search for headlights & came up short. Has anyone done this mod?

Yesterday was my 1st night ride & I definitely want an HID.

errr...I think you would have to do a very creative retrofit to use HID on our bikes. You need a projector lens setup that we don't have in stock configuration. And putting a HID kit in a regular headlight housing is a huge nono.

Sylvania Silverstar H4 is the way to go. $20 at the autoparts store.

I did think about going with the Silverstar, but I've heard they burn out pretty quick.

I've used silverstar's in my cars for years without a single one going out.

I heard some guys talking about that and some blamed it on cars that had daytime running lights that use lower voltage (dimmer than normal during the day).

I've had mine for a while now, but haven't really put that many miles on it (maybe 700).

I keep the old one in the tool area just in case.

I'll give it a try when/if the Cool Blue burns out.

How long does the average stock bulb last?

Default HID headlight

I found a website called Xtralight.com. They have various motorcycle HID kits. H4 for the M50 is there. A couple of friends of mine have converted. One has a shadow sabre the other a BMWr1200 sport tourer. Big difference.
