Default M50 died and I'm not sure why...

Hey whatsup? An hour ago I was leaving work and I started my M50, it was in neutral, I put the kickstand in, pulled the clutch in and put it in first, then the EXACT SECOND I went to bump the throttle alittle it died. I still had the clutch all the way in, but when I went to pop the throttle a bit it just shut off. Started right back up fine, has anyone every had this problem? The only mod I have done that MIGHT effect it is debaffle but I dunno. Hopefully just a fluke or sumthing.

You sure you didn't release the clutch lever a bit? Sounds like the sidestand switch may have stuck.

Was the bike cold ? Was the choke on ? I've found that newer bikes don't like the throttle touched until they've had a minute to warm up. My B12 will stop running if you blip the throttle right after start up.

Thanks to tight emissions regulation, they're jetted lean.

I was thinking it might have been the kickstand not being up completely, I was in a hurry and lazily plopped it up, I put it in first and it stayed on, but maybe when I went to move it shut it off. The clutch was pulled completely in. I dunno, I guess I'll have to go riding to test it out, make sure everything's OK.

Perfectly normal for Florida this time of year.

Our weather just changed from nice to that wet, sticky, humid crap. Happened to my bike all the time in June.

Just make sure when you turn the bike on. Let the Fuel pump do it's cycle, wait a second or two after, and fire her off.

The ECM is trying to learn the environment......and the environment just changed drastically the past couple of days.

wouldn't that kill the engine as soon as you pop out of neutral though (having the sidestand down or switch still stuck in that position)? the TPS wouldn't normally be tied to the engine kill circuit, n'est pas?

No Choke...fuel injected. But I would agree with the others that the bike was probably not warmed up enough yet.

Yeah the warm up time was the exact amount of time it took me to put my gloves on so...yeah not very long. The weather makes sense too, it's gone from alright to holy hell in like, a day.

Actually I had two incidents in the last week similar to this. Might be related.

Twice while shifting gears, I let off the throttle a bit, shifted, released clutch and applied a quick twist of the throttle..........Nothing...... It died for just a second, then started to rev normally. it was like a hiccup or something.

It has only done it twice and both occurrances were just last week. Both happened on different tanks of gas and the bike was warmed up and had been running for at least 30 minutes.

Not sure what or why but after reading this thread, I thought it may be something similar. It has been very hot and sticky here lately.

Hmmmmm..........

hmmmm indeed. I've been riding around the rest of the day and everything is A OK. I tried to get my wife to film me riding by but she doesn't seem to have a good concept of what a good shot is. After riding around the block waiting for her to get the camera in VIDEO mode I finally go by lookin cool as ever, I pull over and what has she filmed? Me going by in a blur. Instead of pointing it at me from far off and watching me go by, she just sat there with it straight ahead so all you see is a blur and hear some noise. We're going to try again tomorrow. I wanna make a cool M50 video but I need to teach her some camera skills first lol.
