Default How do you get it up in the air?

I got a set of new tires for my 1997 marauder. Trying to figure out how to get the bike off the ground to get the wheels off it. I work at a tire shop and i am going to change them out myself, no problem, just dont know how to lift the bike off the ground. I was going to put a floor jack under it with a piece of 2x4 and lift it by the frame, but the bike sits too low to the ground to get the jack and wood under it..

Two really strong guys(or girls,no need to disciminate) to lift whilst you put the blocks under.

I would still get someone to help steady the bike on the lift though.

Something like this:

Craftsman Motorcycle Jack - Accessories & Gear Review - Motorcycle Cruiser

Should cost around $100. The 'rauder is so low to the ground you might need to take a couple of wheels off the jack to make it fit, but that's the way to do it. Do it right, us a m/c lift, don't drop your bike, parts are expensive!

Sears actually sells a MC jack for under $100. My Father-in-law bought one for his harley and it was on sale for $60. They don't have them on the website from what he told me, so you need to go in store.

Yup...and they look pretty good too. You can also get them from JC Whitney for under 100.
