Default Clutch lever dust boot

In the previous thread I started Deriggi mentioned his clutch hand. The day I bought mine the clutch seemingly was getting heavier to pull. A friend who owns a spped triple even made a comment about how big my left hand muscles were going to get. Yesterday, we were messing with it and he pulled the clutch and started to comment, but then noticed the rubber boot over the clutch lever and cable was stretching with the clutch. He moved the boot and the clutch pressure dropped by half. Is there a way to lubricate the boot over the lever so it can slip? Otherwise, I've got the dust boot no longer covering the gap and I'm sure there is a reason for it. Any ideas?
