local car/bike show...with good results - Motorcycle-Journal Forums

Well, my uncle and I rolled over to the local car show today, its ina small town, and always pulls some interesting cars, so we decided to go over and check it out. There's a bike division, and we decided for 5 bucks, we should enter ours...

I love his bike. Triumph bonneville america. Its just clean looking.

We met the guy that owns these 2 GT500's. The 07 won the contemporary open class, and the older one didn't place. (Its original paint, and is showing some wear)

best in show.

Cool stuff. Complete restoration, all documented, and the guy was cool as heck. He talked to my uncle and I for probably 30 minutes at lunch, and I asked him all sorts of stupid questions, and he was really good about educating me.

And what's this? ON the seat? Is that...why yes, yes it is...a 1st place trophy for the 1980-present foreign custom division? Yup. (had ot take this one at home as my camera had migrated home with my wife before the trophies got handed out)

There were only 5 bikes in my class, but I was still pleasently suprised. The other's weren't much, but apparently my matching mods and uncluttered/clean look won for me. I talked to one of the judges afterwards, and I was 1st on 2 cards, and 2nd on the other. Pretty cool!
