Default tale of woe leading to 1st post!

Hello all!
i have been a lurker here for quite some time, since october 2006 when i purchased my left over 2005 black m50. i have learned a lot from reading this forum and seek futher guidance. . . here's an incredibly long story short. on april 19th, took my bike (nameless ) to the dealer to have some hard krome 3" pipes put on. notice that april 19th is well before this related post http://www.motorcycle-journal.com/fo...rd-kromes.html

anyway, pipes didn't fit correctly, they were putting my stock pipes on and stripped a bolt, tried to drill it out and the tap broke off. they had to order a new cylinder head and of course it's a special order and no one has it, not even suzuki and they can't say when they will get it. they pulled the motor out and removed the head and sent it to a machine shop. i am concerned that even if the shop fixes it, there is the potential for issues later on since this has happened. the dealership has made an offer to give $4,300 for my bike ('05 just under 2,000 miles) and sell me a brand new 07 at cost leaving a difference, after taxes, of $2,083. they will also move over my mapam forward controls. having to put out $2k not withstanding, this is a good deal, right? this is what i plan on doing which leads to my next question. obviously i'm not putting hard kromes on it. . . i will be going with the highway hawk turndowns (eventually), but i do plan on debaffling it as soon as possible.
should i wait until after the 600 mile service to do this, or does it not make a difference. . . i need help from the experts! thanks!!

ps: the new one will be black also
