Default Great day for a ride

Today was a great day for a ride. At least for some of us anyway. I had heard that highway 7 here in WA was a good road to ride with some good turns and good scenery to boot. I was having a good time going around a suggested 20mph corner, (I may have been going 30mph but no more) the bike up in front of me about 100ft going about the same speed cuts across the other lane and into the sandtrap that is set up for just this sort of occasion. They are riding two up and the lady on back gets tossed over the bars and the dude driving hits the ground hard with the bike just barely missing landing on him. I stop real quick and make sure Emma can't be hit and race accross the road. Being an EMT/Army medic/Nusing student I know exactly what to do and make sure both the woman and guy are okay. The lady was up walking around but the dude was still on the ground. I give him the quick once over to make sure nothing major is wrong. They came out with just bumps and bruises. Looking at the guys 1/2 helmet it took a good wack. They were both wearing full gear but I found out from the Sheriff the stopped the driver only had a permit which makes me think he hadn't taken an MSF course. I think they would still be riding if he had taken the course since the corner was really not that tight for the speeds we were going. I was only going that slow because I had never been on that road before. On the way back about an hour later I cruised through that same corner at close to 40mph with no problem. The rest of the ride is why I got a bike in the first palce. So much fun just carving up the road even with all the other cars/bike to slow things down I had a lot of fun. Stopped at a lake and took some pics with the phone and came back. Great day. Hope you all had a great day too.

Sounds like a good ride other than accident you witnessed. It's a good thing someone with proper training was there when they went down.

The weather here has been good the last 3 days but rain will be back tomorrow.
Lots of bikes on the road last Sunday.
Motorcycle season is here in the Pacific Northwest!!!!

Wow, kudos for stopping! It definitely was a nice day for bike riding.

I must say though, I'm so bloody tired of this weather. I really hope summer gets here a little faster.

Sounds like a nice ride...too bad you had to encounter something like that.

I've been lucky this year & haven't had to encounter an accident with any real injuries or anything like that. Knock on Wood!

I'll be heading North at some point this year to see some of those lush pines on this side of the country. Looks awesome.

Kinda weird seeing the whole thing. Everything just slowed down for me. When I got to the dude everything I did was just instintual like I had been there a hundred times before. I did have probles getting my helmet off. musta looked like a total buffoon running down the side of the road trying to take it off but kinda forgetting how. Almost ripped my own head off.

That looks like a good camping spot in your pic.
